On Tuesday Jan 31 around 9:30 am companies 75, 77, 76, ladder 43, and Rit 08 were dispatched to 921 Lawnton Terrace for a building fire. Medic 75-7 advised from the station to re-dispatch for a working fire. 75-9a struck a second alarm right away and added an engine from 74. Engine 75 went on location to find a 2 story twin with fire showing from division 1 and 2. Members from engine 75 stretched an 1 3/4'' to knock down the fire so they could make the door. 74-2 arrived shortly after engine 75 and protected the "B" side exposure while members from engine 75 made an interior attack. After protecting the exposure, 74-2 stretched a back-up line to assist with interior fire suppression. While inside it was made aware that the division 2 floor was missing and members could not hit the fire from the inside on the second floor. The interior crew decided that it was no longer safe fighting the fire from the inside and pulled out. Evac tones were hit and crews went into defensive operations. The fire was placed under control at 10:30 am. In addition to companies 75, 77, 76, 43, 08, and 74 were 01, 04, 06, 42.

Around 6:45 hrs. companies 75 and 77 were dispatched to the rear of Stratford Rd for a vehicle fire. While enroute fireboard advised Engine 75 that pd was on location with a vehicle well off with an exposure problem. 75-9b (Lemmon) upgraded it to a building fire which brought 76 (Darby twp. 4), Ladder 43 (Holmes), and Rit 08 (Prospect Park). Engine 75 arrived on location to a car against the rear of the house with it's engine compartment fully involved. Engine 75's crew put a line in service and knocked the bulk of the fire then gained access to the garage via the K-12 saw. Little extension was found and the scene was placed under control within 10 min. Crews from ladder 43 and Rit 08 put fans in service and checked the houses on either side of the fire building and everything came up negative. Crews remained on location for little over a half an hour....
